We arrived home from Rapid City, started laundry, and then packed ourselves up again for a trip north to Jackson. Our dear friends Joel and Laura had made the decision to move to Laramie back in November, and we have eagerly been waiting for the move. We were so eager for them to arrive in Laramie that we decided to spend the week prior to their move helping them pack and clean. It sounds like a very kind thing to do, but really it was a very selfish act on our part. We didn't want there to be anything holding them back from moving to Laramie, and the sooner they got here the better!
We started off our week in Jackson by celebrating Laura's golden birthday. Friday morning we had a nice birthday brunch and then went for a short hike. As always, it is great to get outside and see more of the Jackson scenery. Joel and Laura had a Good-bye/Birthday party in the park Friday night and we were able to meet a lot of their friends from Jackson. We were also able to meet Joel's brother Jesse, who flew out from Indiana to spend the week with them. The Teton County Fair happened to be going on as well, so after a fun evening filled with great food and lawn games, we walked down to the fair to see the animals and rides.

Laura with her birthday funnel cake. How could we not indulge on some fried fair food?

Saturday morning we helped Joel and Laura with their garage sale, and the guys began preparations for their fishing/camping trip. Micah was very excited for the opportunity to go fly fishing in Jackson again. He even came prepared with a necklace chain to put his wedding ring on so there wouldn't be any more rings lost in the river. Laura and SJ spent Saturday evening relaxing and Sunday packing up the remainder of the apartment. The gals had "creativity" flowing as they labeled each box to be moved. Some of the labels consisted of:
- Dishes and dry goods. Probably fragile so walk slowly!
- Kitchen appliances. Extremely fragile on the top (water pitcher on the top, which Laura really likes so don't even think about dropping this box)!
- What isn't in this box? (Kitchen stuff mostly)

Laura with her real birthday cake. This was probably some of the best cake we've had in years. It was delightful!
We left for Laramie on Wednesday morning. It was a long day but well worth it. As we arrived in Laramie we made a quick stop at our place for dinner, which our downstairs neighbor had prepared. We then unloaded the trailer and helped them start unpacking. It was so great to see their new home and know that they are just 10 minutes away rather than 7 hours! We can't wait to share more of our everyday life with them and are so very grateful to have them here!
