Geeked Out

Micah traveled to Washington D.C. for a math conference this past week with a few other teachers from our district.

When he first called home, he was ecstatic to inform me that his hotel was right across the street from the NPR building. From his room window he could look down and see NPR. Of course, while everyone else is wanting to tour the major tourist attractions, Micah was eager and anxious to tour the NPR building. Unfortunately, the timing of his conference did not allow for this to happen and therefore Micah was sad. :)
So, he didn't get to tour his favorite radio station and source of information.
BUT......
he did get to come home with a free t-shirt that has a girl jamming out on a guitar and says, "Math Rocks!"....
wow is all I can say, wow!

Preserve it

I shall pass this way but once.
Any good therefore that I can do
Or any kindness that I can show
Let me not defer nor neglect it
For I shall not pass this way again.

April 22nd is Earth Day, celebrated in 141 countries.

Earth Day is a time for communities to take on local and global projects, to educate and celebrate, and work together to create the environment and world we seek.

One Month

Today marks a little over one month since my  foot surgery.

Things are slowly getting better and I am ready to be done with crutches.....I don't even care if they are making my upper arms tone and buff!

My students have been such a great help and very patient with me. They helped me celebrate the one month mark by taking a celebratory picture.

Easter

We traveled home to Rapid for Easter weekend. We haven't seen Micah's family since Christmas and it was so nice to spend time with them. We had a wonderful Easter dinner...it was hard to not keep eating. However, the best part of the weekend was spending some time with my brother!!!!!! He came up to the Herrboldt's house for a few hours on Saturday evening. We had a nice time hanging out, visiting about all that has taken place since we last talked. I was sooooooo happy to have spent some time with him, even if it did mean for just a short while. So you can imagine how I might have grown a little bit giddy when I found out that he would be joining us for Easter dinner on Sunday! If I could have packed my brother up and brought him home with me, I would have! It was so great to be with him....and it makes me think maybe he wasn't such an annoying little brother like I remember.

Beth, Zach, LaVon, SJ, Micah, Jon, and Bruce ready for Easter food!
Brother Ben and I!!!!!!!! How did my LITTLE brother get to be so big?
Yippee for visits with family and great food!

Braided

Homemade rosemary and garlic thyme bread baked for the first time.

It made the house smell wonderful and it tasted even better.

Mmmmm I love homemade bread!
